United Journal of Nutrition
and Food Science
Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism, and excretion. Nutrition is also defined as the study of nutrients in food, how the body uses nutrients, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease.
Food science is the study of the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food; and the concepts underlying food processing.
Nutrition and Food science are very closely related as Nutrition studies the relationship between foods and its effect on an individual’s health and Food Science considers chemical, biological, and physical properties of food in relation to manufacturing, processing, and storage of food products.
United Journal of Nutrition and Food Science is an international scholarly, peer reviewed journal always strives to enlighten the minds of all the communities about the importance of Nutritious food and various ways to be healthy by the intake of different Nutrients from its publications.
